Summer at SORA TERRACE – Nagano

To me NAGANO takes much bigger portion of heart, as it was our first long trip together❣️

Nagano is more of a winter travel destination and is famous for its Ski resorts, Onsens, Alps and many more.

This trip we were able to capture and feel a new face of Nagano. As the name NAGANO (長野) means ‘Long Field’, we could catch more of green farms, the clear Alps, soothing weather which too made space in our heart♥️

National route 292 connecting Gunma and Nagano prefecture is one the most beautiful drive through routes and it is by itself a beautiful travel destination for me. Driving through the mountain ranges shifted us suddenly from the hot scorching sun to the cool breezy soothing climate. We had a drop of almost 11℃ from down the mountain when we climbed from Gunma to a point we touched top of mountain entering Nagano. Climbing mountain range, we stopped at an Observatory Point1 which is part of Gunma.

We also made brief stop after around 10 more min of drive Observatory point 2. This one had a view of the drive route, sky touching mountains and green lands.

There are various other stops which you can make too. Like Highest Point of Japan’s National Routes, Snow Corridors, Yokoteyama Skylator and many parking areas where you can stop at your own pace and time limits.

Just remember! National Route 292 will be closed from November to April

After drive of around 50km we reached our destination SORA TERRACE in Ryuoo mountains.

Ryuoo is very famous for its Ski resorts, Winter sports, Glamping resorts.

To reach SORA TERRACE we had to take a ropeway which took around 15mins to reach to the top at 1770m.

We got lucky but, in case of bad weather, there is high chances they will suddenly suspend ropeway. It is highly unpredictable. So goodluck to have a calm trip to the top.

It is very rare to find the same view as we see in google, but SORA SKY does not dissapoint. From the top everything look easy, beautiful and soothing anyways.

My man seems enjoying all the pleasure of nature and my photography skills too

You can also find cafe and resturants at the top to dine in and chill out for a while.

We enjoyed the small drizzling rain drops, Sun hiding behind clouds, swaying terrace holding hands and enjoying the sun go down as we climbed down the ropeway.

I heard “Travelling is a Therapy” but now I could feel it too….
